The Compassionate Friends

The Fort Worth Chapter of The Compassionate Friends, a support group for bereaved parents, grandparents, and adult siblings, meets on the second Tuesday of each month at Richland Hills Church of Christ, 6300 N.E. Loop 820 just west of the Rufe Snow exit in North Richland Hills. Meetings begin at 7:30 and end at 9:30 p.m. Refreshments are provided. While the chapter meets in donated church facilities, The Compassionate Friends is not church affiliated. Meetings are open to everyone regardless of race, creed, or religious belief. Victim Assistance Program provides individual, family and group support to victims and families affected by impaired driving. Services include emotional support, legal advocacy, court accompaniment, and information resources to assist the victim and family in the aftermath of a crash. Muslim Community Center For Human Services

Established to meet the social needs of the Muslim community in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, MCC provides a 24-hour domestic violence helpline for counseling and referral services as well as another 24-hour helpline for general information and appointment scheduling. In addition, MCC provides free medical services to uninsured patients of all religions and ethnicities regardless of race and color. Safehaven of Tarrant County

Short term emergency residential shelters for victims of domestic violence. Counseling services are available to shelter and transitional living clients, as well as, victimes living within the community. Provides counseling, support groups, case management, legal advocacy, transitional housing assistance, and children's programs which include counseling, support groups, recreational and therapeutic activities. Services include individual counseling for victims of domestic violence and play therapy for their children. Clients are able to set specific goals toward making healthy and positive life changes. Trauma Support Services of North Texas, Inc.

Offers individual, family, group therapy with therapists who are well-established in trauma theory. Eligible participants include crime victims, their family members, and witnesses of crimes including homicide, armed robbery, assault, vehicular crashes, burglary, any crime resulting in feelings that are interfering with the person's ability to fully function. Victims Outreach

Families of Homicide Victims Support Group. Provide support for survivors (ages 18+) of homicide victims. No fees, free parking. Group meets once a month on the first Tuesday of each month at 221 W. Colorado Blvd., Dallas, Texas 75208. Meet in the Methodist Medical Center's "Service Building" at the intersection of West Colorado and Bishop on the main floor, room 202 (go left to end of hall). Women's Center of Tarrant County, Inc.

The Women's Center serves women, men and children in various programs addressing violence, poverty and crisis. Rape Crisis and Victim Services provides healing and recovery for child and adult victims of rape, sexual abuse, domestic violence, assault, the murder of a family member and other traumatizing crime. 24 hour hotline, individual and group counseling for children and adults, including parents of victims as well as significant others. Other support includes accompaniment for victims at hospital and through medical and/or legal process. Services available for those who have experienced sexual victimization at any point in their life. No fee charged for services to child victims of sexual assault or sexual abuse. No fees charged for services to victims of violent crime. For other services, reduced fee schedule based on financial need. Offices in Fort Worth and Arlington.
